Hymn: Great God Your Love Has Called Us Here ... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OKTKBA_yxaM
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, And the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all.
In silence, we prepare ourselves to worship God, by bringing to awareness and placing before God all that weighs heavily on our souls – things we have done or left undone; things we regret; angry, unkind or unforgiving thoughts and feelings towards anyone; the ways we wound our lives and the lives of others. We ask God to help us bring loving intentions to worship today and to life in general.
silence is kept
Having in mind all that we bring before God this day, we pray: Father forgive us, Christ renew us, Holy Spirit enable us to grow in Love. Amen.
Proclamation of the Word
Venite (Psalm 95)
COME, let us sing unto the LORD: / let us heartily rejoice in the strength of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, / and show ourselves glad in him with psalms. For the LORD is a great God, / and a great King above all gods.
In his hand are all the corners of the earth: / and the strength of the hills is his also.
The sea is his, and he made it: / and his hands prepared the dry land.
O COME, let us worship, and fall down, / and kneel before the LORD our Maker.
For he is the Lord our God; / and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. TO-DAY, O that ye would hear his voice: ‘Harden not your hearts as in the Provocation, and as in the day of Temptation in the wilderness; When your fathers tempted me, / proved me, and saw my works Forty years long was I grieved with that generation, and said,
“It is a people that do err in their hearts, for they have not known my ways”; Unto whom I sware in my wrath, / that they should not enter into my rest.’ GLORY be to the Father, and to the Son, / and to the Holy Ghost;
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, / world without end. Amen.
Psalm 86: 8-13
There is none like you among the gods, O Lord, nor are there any works like yours.
All the nations you have made shall come and bow down before you, O Lord,
and shall glorify your name.
For you are great and do wondrous things; you alone are God.
Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth;
give me an undivided heart to revere your name.
I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name for ever.
For great is your steadfast love towards me; you have delivered my soul from the depths of Sheol.

The Holy Gospel Mark 12 1-17
Then he began to speak to them in parables. "A man planted a vineyard, put a fence around it, dug a pit for the wine press, and built a watchtower; then he leased it to tenants and went to another country. When the season came, he sent a slave to the tenants to collect from them his share of the produce of the vineyard. But they seized him, and beat him, and sent him away empty-handed. And again he sent another slave to them; this one they beat over the head and insulted. Then he sent another, and that one they killed. And so it was with many others; some they beat, and others they killed. He had still one other, a beloved son. Finally he sent him to them, saying, "They will respect my son.' But those tenants said to one another, "This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.' So they seized him, killed him, and threw him out of the vineyard. What then will the owner of the vineyard do? He will come and destroy the tenants and give the vineyard to others. Have you not read this scripture: "The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone; this was the Lord's doing, and it is amazing in our eyes'?" When they realized that he had told this parable against them, they wanted to arrest him, but they feared the crowd. So they left him and went away.
Then they sent to him some Pharisees and some Herodians to trap him in what he said. And they came
and said to him, "Teacher, we know that you are sincere, and show deference to no one; for you do not
regard people with partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with truth. Is it lawful to pay taxes
to the emperor, or not? Should we pay them, or should we not?" But knowing their hypocrisy, he said to
them, "Why are you putting me to the test? Bring me a denarius and let me see it." And they brought
one. Then he said to them, "Whose head is this, and whose title?" They answered, "The emperor's."
Jesus said to them, "Give to the emperor the things that are the emperor's, and to God the things that
are God's." And they were utterly amazed at him.

The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth:
And in Jesus Christ his only Son our Lord,
Who was conceived by the Holy Ghost, Born of the Virgin Mary,
Suffered under Pontius Pilate, Was crucified, dead, and buried:
He descended into hell; The third day he rose again from the dead;
He ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of God the Father Almighty; From thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Ghost; The holy Catholic Church;
The Communion of Saints; The Forgiveness of sins;
The Resurrection of the body, And the Life everlasting. Amen.
The Prayer of the Day
Son of God, you spoke words to Jerusalem’s Leaders that were hard to hear. Give us ears to receive your word of life so that we can follow you faithfully. In your holy name we pray. Amen
The Second Collect, for Peace.
O GOD, who art the author of peace and lover of concord, in knowledge of whom standeth our eternal life, whose service is perfect freedom: Defend us thy humble servants in all assaults of our enemies; that we, surely trusting in thy defence, may not fear the power of any adversaries; through the might of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
The Third Collect, for Grace.
LORD our heavenly Father, Almighty and everlasting God, who hast safely brought us to the beginning of this day: Defend us in the same with thy mighty power; and grant that this day we fall into no sin, neither run into any kind of danger; but that all our doings may be ordered by thy governance, to do always that is righteous in thy sight; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayers of Intercession
Turning our hearts to God who is gracious and merciful, we pray for the church, the world, and all who are in need.
A brief silence
(In the Anglican cycle of prayer... pray for our Bishop Todd, metropolitan Archbishop Anne, primate Archbishop Linda, national indigenous Archbishop Mark and Bishop Marinez of Amazonia)
God of living water, send your church beyond boundaries to proclaim your grace. May its witness be a source of refreshment for thirsty souls. Strengthen our voices, that all people can know and believe that Jesus is truly the saviour of the world. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
God of living water, protect from pollution or misuse all rivers, lakes, oceans, and streams (local water sources may be named). Bless the work of those who dig wells and those who advocate for access to clean water, that all people and animals have enough to drink. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
God of living water, open the hearts of leaders and authorities, that they hear the cries of the suffering and act with compassion toward them. Bring peace to disputed lands and bring reconciliation to people divided by race, culture, or nationality. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
God of living water, mend the hearts of those who grieve broken relationships, whether by conflict, abuse, divorce, or death. Draw near to all who are ill (especially ... please mention any others for whom you wish to pray...) Assure those questioning your presence in the midst of doubt or suffering. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
God of living water, renew us in the promises of baptism. Join us together in worship, fellowship, and sharing your good news. Embolden us to serve others and to work for justice and peace. Hear us, O God. Your mercy is great.
Here other intercessions may be offered.
God of living water, we thank you for those who endured suffering and who now boast in the glory of God (especially). Pour your Holy Spirit into our hearts and give us peace as we live in the hope of our salvation. Hear us, O God.
Your mercy is great.
According to your steadfast love, O God, hear these and all our prayers as we commend them to you; through Christ our Lord. Amen
Accept, O Lord, our thanks and praise for all you have done for us. We thank you for the splendour of the whole creation, for the beauty of this world, for the wonder of life, and for the mystery of love. We thank you for the blessing of family and friends, and for the loving care which surrounds us on every side. We thank you for setting us tasks which demand our best efforts, and for leading us to accomplishments which satisfy and delight us. We thank you also for those disappointments and failures that lead us to acknowledge our dependence on you alone. Above all, we thank you for your Son Jesus Christ; for the truth of his word and the example of his life; for his steadfast obedience, by which he overcame temptation; for his dying, through which he overcame death; for his rising to life again, in which we are raised to the life of your kingdom. Grant us the gift of your Spirit, that we may know Christ and make him known; and through him, at all times and in all places, may give thanks to you in all things. Amen.
The Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God, and Fellowship of the Holy Spirit by with us all evermore. Amen
